  Resume from suspend doesn't work

Status in “acpi-support” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  When I close the lid of my laptop and open it again, it usually works
  fine. But when I leave the laptop on overnight and want to start using
  it the next day it won't resume. The screen is just black. It seems to
  run fine in the background.

  My computer: Dell Latitude D610.
  OS: Ubuntu 8.04 final.

  I had this issue with Ubuntu 7.04 and 7.10 aswell I think but I never
  got to report the bug.

  It seems from previous bug reports that the same issue on different
  PC's may be different issues due to different hardware, so I've
  decided to make a brand new bug report with info from my PC.
