Upon further consideration we'd actually like a new bug report if you
still have troubles with the installer after resolving this hardware
error so I am setting this bug report to Invalid. Thanks for your
understanding.
** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
Status: Incomplete => Invalid

Title:
ubiquity crashed with InstallStepError in configure_timezone()
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
Invalid
Bug description:
Binary package hint: ubiquity
Using Intrepid (8.10) amd64 LiveCD. Chose "French" language and "Swiss
Frech" keyboard at startup. Ubiquity (1.10.10) crashed nearly at the
end of the installation process and showed the window "Application
problem. Sorry, the program "ubiquity" closed unexpectedly blablabla".
Went through installer, then it downloaded files from mirror, then crashed (in configure_timezone() it seems).
Files seems to be copied on the harddrive, but no boot loader (I think I will reboot as usual next time I restart).
If I try to lauch Ubiquity again by double-clicking on the "Installer"
button on the desktop, application crashes again. I'm going to try to
install the available updates from mirror before trying again.
