Some change in behavior with "Lubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Beta i386
(20110830.1)". Note that is the actual info listed in /var/log/installer
/media-info, just to be certain the md5sum is
c3a95097164e7416dc25ba28e700557b.

Anyway I once again got the "Installation step failed" and explanation
that the step that failed is "Select and install software". It failed
again on repeat so I completed the installation and of course boot
failed.

But this time from TTY, when I typed apt-get install lubuntu-desktop, I
was asked to insert the installation media (20110830.1) so I did and
then the installation appeared to complete. It booted successfully
afterwards.

Once again I'll attach the apt/history.log. Not sure what might be
helpful from the installer logs.

Bug description:
  I'm testing the Lubuntu oneiric alternate CD 20110827-i386 and I've
  run through the process twice to be certain this could be reproduced.
  Upon completing the installation the installed size per gparted is
  only 952.79 MB, and trying to boot simply fails.

  If I boot into recovery mode via grub and select the netroot option
  running apt-get -f install shows nothing but running apt-get install
  lubuntu-desktop installs the full meal deal similar to what's seen
  after performing a cli/minimal install. I'll attach the apt logs if
  not included by apport-collect.
