Title:
Crash during instalation of 11.04 or 11.10
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
I am having problems to install the new Ubuntu 11.10 on my laptop. I
have always run Ubuntu on this laptop since version 8.04 and never had
any problems installing Ubuntu alongside winxp. I am trying to install
based on a flash drive. I can use the live-usb mode. But during the
installation process (copying files) the process friezes. I am
selection both Update 10.04 Ubuntu or Erase 10.04 Ubuntu from the
installation process. I have checked the MD5 hash before burning the
USB memory drive.
Even during the use of USB-Live the system appears toooo slow. Even
crashes some times.
This is a Itautec Infoway laptop (Brazil Manufacture). Pentium M, 1Gb
RAM, WiFi Atheros, VGA VIA S3 UniChrome Pro CN700/P4M800, Multimedia
VIA VT8233, Winmodem AC'97 VIA. Mother Board VIA.
