Title:
upgrade to 11.10 turfs xfsprogs, causes errors on boot
Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
After upgrading from 11.04 to 11.10, the upgrader apparently decided
to remove the xfsprogs package, even though my root filesystem is xfs.
Then, on boot, it complained that there was big problems with the
filesystem check of my root volume. Further investigation revealed
that it was just erroring out because fsck.xfs didn't exist in the
initramfs.
Not sure what the culprit is here, but it's a pretty painful bug for
what should have been an easy upgrade.
