Thanks for response anyway.
Maybe the status could be fixed. I am not sure.
Calling xrandr repeatedly even on VT was the main issue spotted on natty->oneiric conversion, launchpad bug #883618
Two extra lines is tolerable.. one extra line every few minutes is.. a nightmare

when updating from maverick to natty, after the upgrade completes and
obsolete sofware is being detected, this shows up:
YYY packages are going to be removed.
Fetching and installing the upgrade can take several hours. Once the
download has finished, the process cannot be cancelled.

I find this message rather confusing. Nobody is going to download, install and upgrade anything.
The messages makes no sense.
