[Bug 899727] Re: Installation aborted / crashed

I tried installing with a Ubuntu 10.10 AMD64 when I received this error.

Because of your advice I downloaded and burned lUbuntu 12.04 and this
Live-CD didn't even boot (tried several boot options, but the selfcheck
said, that the disc is OK). A friend told me about a possible bug in
this media, too, so I will retry it with a lUbuntu 11.10 media and then
with a Linux Mint LXDE one.

Don't know how to isolate the source of the error. I have also tried
unplugging all USB-Devices from the Laptop, but I didn't see any
difference.

Title:
  Installation aborted / crashed

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
Tried to install Ubuntu on my Asus Laptop.

Live-DVD is not booting except I disable ACPI, then trying to install
and while copying the files, I am getting an error with the
notification to post this error unter this URL (including "ubiquity",
think that says the error happens there?).

I could install Ubuntu weeks ago and boot it with many tries (e.g.
ACPI=off), now its neither booting nor installing.
