Cleaning out old reports. Please file a new one if this is still a problem in a current release. Thanks.

Title:
update manager side-by-side compare should show diff in a monospaced
  font

Status in Update Manager:
  Invalid
Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
When replacing a user-modified config file with a stock file during
upgrade, update manager offers to show a side-by-side comparison of
the files. This view is so awfully formatted that it's practically
useless. I think it's trying to show me a side-by-side diff meant for
a monospace font, but it uses a variable-width font instead.

Please make the side-by-side view readable.
