This bug was fixed in the package debian-installer - 20101020ubuntu43

---------------
debian-installer (20101020ubuntu43) oneiric; urgency=low

  * Make nic-modules udeb optional on armel; currently not present on
armel+vexpress (builtin ethernet is built into the kernel); some USB NICs
should still be possible as modules, but that's optional; LP: #805596.

Title:
debian-installer FTBFS on armel+vexpress due to lack of USB NICs udeb

Status in “linux-linaro-vexpress” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Hi

debian-installer failed to build because the nic-modules udeb was empty:
  https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/debian-installer/20101020ubuntu41

vexpress' networking is probably enabled, but at the very least USB
NICs should be enabled as modules in the kernel config.

I'll relax the debian-installer module dep to allow this udeb to be
missing, but it seems we should nevertheless enable USB NICs in the
  config.

  Thanks,
