Title:
[Hardy beta] installer doesn't migrate settings

Status in “migration-assistant” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
At a certain point in the installer, the user is asked if he/she would
like to migrate documents and settings. My previous Ubuntu
installation (7.04) is properly detected, as well as the users on that
installation. I marked all the users I wanted to migrate, but after
rebooting, none of the users I marked were present on the system. The
only user that was present (myself) had no migrated settings
whatsoever, although the installer indicated that it would migrate
  Firefox, Evolution and GAIM settings.
