Title:
prerequisites for installing ubuntu are out of date

Status in “debian-installer” package in Ubuntu:

Status in “debian-installer” source package in Oneiric:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: debian-installer

This can be found when booting the alternate CD and pressing F2.

  From build/boot/x86/f2.txt:

You must have at least 44 megabytes of RAM to use this Ubuntu
  installer.

You should have space on your hard disk to create a new disk partition
of at least 2 gigabytes to install a standard Ubuntu desktop system or
at least 400 megabytes for a minimal server installation.

Ubiquity recommends something like 5.2 gigabytes for a standard Ubuntu
desktop system which is significantly more than the alternate CD
recommends. I believe the prerequisites should be updated to reflect
  the same space requirements.
