Unfortunately ubuntu 6.06 reached its end of life July 14, 2009 therefore it is no longer supported.  Thanks for reporting though, and feel free to report any other bugs you may find.  Closing report.

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  When performing
  "do-release-upgrade"
  upgrading fails:

  Output:
  "WARNING: Failed to read mirror file"
  and
  "Getting upgrade prerequisites failed 
  The system was unable to get the prerequisites for the upgrade. The 
  upgrade will abort now and restore the original system state. 
  Please report this as a bug against the 'update-manager' package and 
  include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bugreport. 
  Restoring original system state
  Aborting"
