Similarly, I'm seeing an error icon next to my email addresses but
there's no indication of what the problem is. I can't put my address in
any more correctly. I'm also using a long password that meets the given
requirements.
My name is not the same as my email, as the OP here.
An explanation would go a long way to helping us guess what the user
error or bug is.

Title:
unclear requirements at registration form
Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
Binary package hint: software-center
I tried to make feedback for some software packages in ubuntu software
center. RU language pack installed.
I need to register as a new user. Registration form made me mad :(
Login and mailbox name must be different. Registration form alert that
email incorrect when I enter login and same mailbox name.
Password at new account registration form must be alphanumeric and 8
char's long (according to helper in russian language). I entered 10
symbols alphanumeric lowercase password and form alerted me about
weakness of password. Actually, password must contain upper and lower
case symbols to submit this form.
I think that field error alerts must cause balloon pop-up with
explanation of it.
That things are very annoying and too bad to usability, IMHO. I'm
having more than 10 years experience working with computers. But this
registration form seems too difficult to me ;)
That's why I'm not surprised about a small number of reviews in Ubuntu
Software Center.
