Title:
[Oneiric] Software-properties 0.81.2 does not work

Status in “software-properties” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
The newest update of the application software-properties (0.81.2) does not work.
  The application does not launch.
I have tried it with 3 different ways:
  - from Synaptic
  - from menu (system settigns - software sources)
  - from terminal (software-properties-gtk)
  None of them work.

Downgrading to the previous version (0.80.13) solves the issue for
  now.

  I have fully upgraded/updated Oneiric 64-bit:
  - nvidia-current
  - gnome-shell
