  synaptic crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

Bug description:
  This happened with the Oneiric and all updates applied.
  After a reboot, I ran sudo apt-get update in a terminal which completed successfully but the crash report dialog popped up so I am submitting it in case there is something else broken.
