Title:
"Working copy '.' locked" with no working copy

Status in “subversion” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: subversion

I launch midnight commander, and locate a directory in one panel (I have a copy of sources without version control there, but the bug shows even if it's empty) and locate some auxiliary directory on the other panel. I go to the panel with auxiliary directory.
  svn co [some_url]
The process starts, I press Control-O, check that .svn is already there, and copy the .svn info to the other directory. In fact, this .svn stuff is all what i need.
I wait till the download finishes, and issue svn update from the other directory.
I expect it to download all of the files.
  Instead, I get the error:
  svn: Working copy '.' locked
But there is no locked working copy!

Neither a reboot, nor a reboot to Windows and back helps. The version
of Windows is Windows 7, but it does not help.
