Yes it was copied, but since "/etc/dhcpd" was a link to "/etc/dhcp3"
some really strange things happened. It would have been nice, if
something like "touch /etc/dhcp3/Can_be_deleted" or something similar
had been created --- would make it a lot more clear which of the two
directories is old and not used any more!

Yes, my configuration contains the line "include /etc/bind/key.rndc".
This is because both, the DNS and DHCP-Server, read this file. Apparmor
should not stupidly overwrite files changed by the user. Leave the
changed file in place, informing the user about a new file! AFAIK apt-
get does this already.

Title:
isc-dhcp-server doesn't start any more after upgrade

Status in “isc-dhcp” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  1. Have dhcp3-server installed
  2. upgrade from Ubuntu 10.10 to 11.04
  3. restart your system
  4. find isc-dhcp-server not starting any more

  - all links from /etc/dhcp3 to /etc/dhcp are now real directories. The links are gone.
  - your apparmor.d/usr.sbin.dhcpd3 wasn't changed to reflect the new paths.
  - the new apparmor.d/usr.sbin.dhcpd doesn't hold any of the changes made to this file to reflect your setup

Result: various files are not accessible any more. The server will not start.
Since this error was already one migration from Ubuntu 9.10 to 10.04, then from 10.04 to 10.10, it is now again there migrating from 10.10 to 11.04 ...
Or shall I assume I've to fix this again and again and again and again???

If you are not able to fix this it would be nice to turn off apparmor,
start dhcp, and give a report what files are not expected to be read
by dhcpd. Let us fix these, then enable apparmor again. It is a pitty
if some 100 Users get upset trying to lynch the admin because of not
having network access any more after their leases expired.
