Bug description:
  Binary package hint: apt-xapian-index

  This in on a resource strapped Asus surf 2g with 2GB SSHD that
  contains a swap, /var and /home partitions.  Root is on 4GB SD card in
  external slot.  /var/apt-cache (apt cache in var) is sim linked to
  location on sdcard because of its size.
