Reinstalled with the 'download updates from the internet' option off and
all worked fine. I suppose a choppy internet connection disrupts the
installer.

Title:
Ubiquity crashed during install - Natty - HP DV7 - Intel Centrino

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: ubiquity

Ubiquity reported a crash during the "Removing Packages" stage of the
install and provided the link to file a bug here. I'm installing on a
HP DV7 with an Intel Centrino processor and an ATI Raedon Graphics
Card. I dual boot Windows 7 and am attempting to reformat an earlier
Ubuntu install over two partitions, '/' and '/home'.

Launchpad will only allow one attachment so I've attached var-log-
syslog. I'll see if I can attach var-log-partman in a comment below.
