  my update manager is not working anymore..

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  May I first apologize as I am reasonably new to Ubuntu 11.04 & Linux
  and I am not totally familiar with the Linux terms, as I am a recent
  convert from Windows XP.

  when i open update-manager, it shows me a message to report a bug...
  then there is only option to close the update-manager, i'm not able to do anything...
  it shows me a message to report with a bug is ::

  'E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with
  MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu
  .com_ubuntu_dists_natty_main_binary-i386_Packages, E:The package lists
  or status file could not be parsed or opened.'
