It seems, at least in my case, that the problem depends on whether I
run GDM or LightDM but also if I use autologin or not.
In my previous comment I ran LightDM and manual login.
After some tests between GDM/LightDM and auto/manual login it seems that
autologin works better for both DMs concerning network setup. At the
moment I'm running LightDM and autologin and it mostly works.
However, trying to access the Network confiuration under System
preferences hangs and I'm forced to do a force quit to close that
window. So there is a network issue introduced by the glib2.0 update.
Downgrading "solves" the issue at the moment.
Then why this /etc/etc folder being created?
