Title:
grub 1.99~rc looses automatc count when synaptic freezes, and one has
  to reboot to unfreeze natty-synaptic-package-manager.

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:
  Expired

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub2

natty-beta has instabilities or compatibility problems, cause
cascading errors that apport is unable to respond to, since it freezes

apport as well, to the point of REISUB [forced reboot].

It starts with Synaptic Package Manager freeze up; if one ignores this
and cause it toAfter force quit, than other apps freeze as well.

After forced reboot, grub 1.99 has to be manually started.

It is grub problem only because natty apps freeze, until natty itself
  freezes.

apport is unable to report because of the freezes.

This is the first upgrade [natty-ubuntu] with unbelievable amounts of
  freezes even OS freezes [unresponsive]
