Obviously a meta package was removed prior to this package, causing all
of it's dependencies to be selected for removal. As far as I know,
that's supposed not to happen in the Ubuntu archive as metapackages are
in the metapackages section which APT then treats differently, but
that's the only reasonable explanation for this bug.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: apt

  I used the command 
  sudo apt-get remove lamp-server^
  and it started removing packages that weren't put in when I installed lamp-server such as
  gdm , krita and plenty of other things my system needed to run
