Still seeing this on fully updated natty 11.04. Was this bug abandoned
or assumed fixed elsewhere?

  While trying to update this system a few minutes ago, Update Manager
  showed a list of updates, and then shortly after I clicked on the
  button for starting the downloads, the program froze after displaying
  a message saying that the "deamon died".
