Title:
Kubuntu "continue using Live CD" -> unable to log in

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: oem-config

  ISO:
  Kubuntu i386 DVD from 20080318.1

After completing the installation I was presented with the option to
continue using the Live CD. I choose to do that and then was
presented with a kdm screen where I was unable to log in due to an
"error setting up inter-process communications for KDE" and "check
  that the 'dcopserver' is running".
