This was fixed in Kubuntu 11.04 and soon will be upstream in KDE 4.7

Bug description:
  Hi,

  I saw that to share a document is very complex in kubuntu, first of
  all, samba is nott installed,  and if you install it, nobody can
  access your shares, it does more dificult for the normal user to use
  kubuntu.
