  lost X connection during conffile merge

Status in “grub2” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: grub2

  Upgrade just hanged, so I rebooted from another terminal, then it did
  not continue on boot, but i was able to switch to a terminal and did a
  apt-get something something (looks like it built all the pacages
  again), and then i did a update and install.. and was able to reach
  the desktop
