Hi Jacob, your issue is likely a separate one form miitararra's. Since
it appears that you are running the Maverick version of Software Center,
then it would probably be most useful for us if you would please open a
terminal and launch Software Center from the command line as shown
(note, no 'sudo'):

  $ software-center

Then, try to reproduce the problem in Software Center, and then attach
any output that you see in the terminal after the failure. This should
help us to hone in on the cause of your issue.
