I am sorry for that. I am not a technical person in this field. I use
Ubuntu since 6.06 release and I am now using 11.04. Such an error was
seen for first time in my life and thought of reporting it so that it
will help in improving Ubuntu.

  Cannot update or install packages

Status in “apt” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  I am using ubuntu 11.04 and I am unable to install packages from the
  universe multiverse main extras. I have enabled these repositories but
  while reloading package information it is telling a Hashsum mismatch.
  I tried changing the download server, using command line apt-get
  update apt-getclean etc but it didnt solve the issue
