This also looks a lot like bug #776499, another bug about missing menus
with several duplicate bugs. Should they be merged?

Binary package hint: vim
There is no menu bar for gvim when using the Unity interface.
The error is:
** (gvim:8022): WARNING **: Unable to register window with path '/com/canonical/menu/4E00024': Timeout was reached
Sometimes the menu returns to the window and other times the menu never reappears.
