Title:
  If a debconf prompt is not answered after some time update-manager
  need to catch the attention of the user.

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Ran Distribution Upgrade from Update Manager.. System hangs without reboot. After several hours, system fails manual reboot. 
  After several tries, Grub ofters recovery mode. In recovery mode, package upgrade runs for some time. On the next reboot, Gnome does come up.

  Audio out, internal microphone not working.
