  Update-manager 11.10 details dropdown broken

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Upon clicking the "Details" dropdown when applying updates, the text
  area does not expand to show the details. It shows a single line's
  worth of black with some graphical corruption on the left hand side
  and occasional flashes of text while processing updates.
