As this concerns a problem booting into the live cd, I'm pretty sure it should be reported against the kernel.

Title:
  Live stuck on "Loading bootlogo"

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
On MacbookPro (8,1), with an SSD drive as primary disk (EFI), neither
the Live CD or USB sticks would work.

It will always fail right after "ISOLINUX copyright" line and prompt
  "Loading bootlogo...".

  CD integrity is OK.

The workaround consist in using an "EFI Ubuntu loader" that someone
made and is available on the Internet (without sources and it states
it's been done for Ubuntu 10.10).

The problem does not only affect Ubuntu but at least also debian
  squeeze and Arch October.
