Public bug reported:
I am using Ubuntu Natty at a corporate site where outbound port-80
access is firewalled.
When the check-new-release-gtk dialog comes up to tell me about the new
version of Ubuntu, the text widget therein shows only "Cannot connect to
destination (archive.ubuntu.com)".
I have my /etc/apt/sources.list file pointed to a local apt-cacher
server; "apt-get whatever" and such work fine through that. I've looked
through the update-manager scripts, and am aware that they will download
distro-upgrade files from a mirror in sources.list in preference to
archive.ubuntu.com if possible. The same needs to happen when this
dialog attempts to download the release announcement files.
** Affects: update-manager (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
