I have noticed that your UbiquitySyslog.txt contains the following lines:
Nov 6 08:05:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 1345.756014] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] Unhandled error code
Nov 6 08:05:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 1345.756017] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] Result: hostbyte=DID_OK driverbyte=DRIVER_TIMEOUT
Nov 6 08:05:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 1345.756021] sd 2:0:0:0: [sda] CDB: Write(10): 2a 00 02 c6 52 f8 00 00 08 00
Nov 6 08:05:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 1345.756030] end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 46551800
Nov 6 08:05:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 1345.756033] end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 46551800
Nov 6 08:05:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 1345.756467] Aborting journal on device sda1-8.
Nov 6 08:05:16 ubuntu kernel: [ 1345.762753] journal commit I/O error

This indicates that either 1) you have a faulty hard drive/component, or
2) you are experiencing a bug similar to bug #577796.

Could you please perform the following actions and tell me if they worked?
1) Check the CD for defects (for safety's sake). Boot the computer from the CD, when it shows up the little logo with a human and a keyboard at the bottom, press a key and select your language. Choose the "Check CD for defects" option.
2) Run a memory test. Follow the same procedure described above, but choose the "Test memory" option during the last step. Let the test program run for several hours.
3) If everything fails, please describe the hardware you have got (include at least computer's model and make, motherboard model and make if known, disk model and make if known).

Thanks!
