Are we sure that this is a duplicate of bug 430996?
1. The reported error messages in the two bugs are different.
2. That bug was supposedly fixed in 0.2.10.
3. This bug still exists as of 0.2.34.

Bug description:
Binary package hint: usb-creator
I would trying to make a "USB startup disk" with the "USB Start Up
Disk Creator".
In the program I first selected the *. iso file of Ubuntu, 2nd My USB
memory (with 1GB) 3. "Option Stored in reserved extra space" (128MB).
After 80% of the work done the "USB Start Up Disk Creator" said "Checksums do not match. Retry?". I said Yes but got the same message again!
After that the Creator get me the message that it had put the data
on usb-ROM which I then wanted to delete. But then it crashed?!
