Thanks for your bug report. This is filed against debian-installer, but
from your report it's not clear if you installed from an 'alternate' or
'server' iso file. It sounds like you didn't from your report, so if
that's the case please change the package that this is filed against to
'ubiquity' and attach the files in '/var/log/installer' so that someone
more familiar with debugging installer problems can see what went wrong.
** Changed in: debian-installer (Ubuntu)

Title:
kubuntu installer crashes 11.10
Status in “debian-installer” package in Ubuntu:
Incomplete
Bug description:
had identical installer crash 4 times today from downloaded kubuntu
64b amd iso file over the past 2 days Nov 24/25 2011
downloaded iso image from ubuntu website, created disc, installed with
a windows vista and now windows xp install. from bootup of cd
selected the first default choice, chose to create a partition,
default and then it installed. plenty of disk space available, 300G
drive, it made a 117G partition? for linux
in the process the error message said to write a bug report. tried
searching for a similar bug, the only one said installer crashes
because of insufficient disk space. all this said was sorry the
installer crashed, no useful information and something about writing a
bug report here. so far its running well enough to load firefox and
come here
if there is an installation file that has relevant info please advise
