Additional info:

I retried the install and the 32bit OEM install crashed the second time
as well. I also attempted this with the 64bit ISO and did NOT encounter
this problem.

Title:
Installer crashed during install to VBox VM

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This crash occurred during an attempt to do an OEM install using the
20111128 ISO for Precise Alpha 1.

While doing the package installation, the installer crashed, causing a
warning dialog and apport to fire.

I do not know exactly what happened, as the warning box was rather
vague, saying only that the installer had crashed and a bug would be
  reported.

This is using the above mentioned ISO to do an OEM install on a
  Virtual Box VM
