Title:
Ubuntu 11.04 installer crash while installing grub

Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I've been trying to install Ubuntu 11.04 for about 12 hours now on my
acer netbook with no success. The installer crashes whenever it
reaches the grub installation phase. It claims that it cannot install
grub on my hard drive which is ridiculous.

I tried installing Fedora just to see if there was something wrong
with the hard drive and it when through without a hitch. I've attach
the syslog to the bug report in hopes that someone can assist me. In
the mean time i'm going to try some other distro since i need to get
  work done.

  Thank you,

  Fred
