Apparently I'm running version 5.0 according to the about box, so this
bug is still not dead. I changed the status back to confirmed to reflect
this.

Please advise if that was the wrong thing to do, thanks. :)

  I installed the Alpha 3 Lubuntu 11.10 and ran software center. I was
  rating the xmahjonng and this came up. It said it was an apport bug.
  The game loaded okay.
