[Bug 384454] Re: [quicksearch] quick search returns incorrect results

Can confirm that bug for Oneiric Beta2 with all updates (upgraded from 11.04). Or maybe it is another bug? Quick search displays only a.... to f.... results, no packages for g..... to z..... package names.
sudo update-apt-xapian-index didn't work too.

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: synaptic

  Ubuntu karmic install; using Synaptics to search for dvd rippers:

  clicking on the search button and entering 'rip' as search term finds
  both acidrip and dvdrip; independent of whether I search only within
  names or within names and descriptions.

  But entering 'rip' in the fast search box finds dvdrip, but never
  acidrip!

  uname -a gives:
  Linux atom330 2.6.30-8-generic #9-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 3 15:23:55 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
