Well, I'll be. Worked like a charm. I guess I'm not starting some needed
daemon/service in my E17 startup? Have any hints for me as to what that
daemon might be?
I guess this means my case is not a bug, and perhaps all this has been
for naught. However, if I'm right, and there's some service that isn't
started, perhaps it's that service failing, or otherwise not starting
that is causing problems for other people.
If you don't have any hints for me, I suppose I'll have to compare the
output of ps -x after logging in under each window manager and see what
kinds of differences there are. Hopefully that will lead me in the
right direction.
