  [oneiric] suddenly network-manager, sound, power-controls and updates
  stops working

Status in “dbus” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
  On every boot, suddenly, without performing any specific action,
  network-manager, sound, power-controls and updates stop working.

  Those issues happens silently and user is not informed.
  User unable to lock, standby, log-out or power-off, system won't also perform those actions automatically.
  I see this bug a severe security issue.

  I relate those issues to D-BUS, since they all appears simultaneously, and D-BUS the only thing in common.
  But I might be wrong.
