Do you happen to have the syslog file from your installation attempt?
If not please try reinstalling and execute the command 'ubuntu-bug
ubiquity' in a terminal after the installation fails.

  following instructions from http://www.linuxbsdos.com/2011/06/11/dual-
  boot-linux-mint-11-and-windows-7/1/, but when it copied files,
  Installer crashed, saying something about GRUB
