You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I tried to install ubuntu-11.10-beta2-alternate-amd64+mac.iso. I burned this to cdrom. At boot time the cdrom was shown as WINDOWS and booted from it ( I thought there should also an EFI choice to boot from CD).
The installer came up and I could choose language region and locale.
After these steps the installer tries to mount the cdrom - but fails. I see only the Error message that it can't mount the cd-rom.
