I experienced the same problem on a Samsung NC210 netbook. The screen
where you can select a profile photo or take one with the webcam has
buttons which are completely off-screen on a 1024z600 resolution
monitor. You can tab to an 'invisible' button and press enter to
proceed, blindly guessing that you are clicking on OK, rather than back
or cancel...

Title:
Installer uses a fixed-height window that is small for 1024x600
netbook
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Summary: the installer in Ubuntu Oneiric beta 1 uses a fixed height,
resulting in some buttons not displayed correctly on netbooks that
have a 1024x600 screen resolution. I've attached a photo taken during
installation so you can see exactly what I'm talking about.
Solution proposed: since there is a lot of space available I would
suggest to make the window size smaller or set its height to
MAXIMUM_SCREEN_HEIGHT - 40 pixel or something similar.
