Public bug reported:

https://help.ubuntu.com/11.04/installation-guide/i386/apcs03.html
Recommended Partitioning Scheme hasn't been updated since at least 8.04
(and probably lot longer). it probably hasn't been updated for 11.10
either but it isn't online yet...

in particular:

> On 32-bit architectures (i386, m68k, 32-bit SPARC, and PowerPC), the
maximum size of a swap partition is 2GB

this limitation was removed after 2.3.3, and referred to swap areas in
general not just partitions

> As an example, an older home machine might have 32MB of RAM and a
1.7GB IDE drive

you get the idea...

** Affects: installation-guide (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
