Having tried again, I've discovered that if you press ESC on the error
screen and then select 'Select components to install' from the d-i main
menu then the installation continues succesfully. The initial error may
be down to a problem with our preseed, e.g. it's being forced to use a
particular partition that doesn't exist or something like that.

** Changed in: debian-installer (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Invalid

** Changed in: hw-labs
       Status: New => Confirmed

Title:
  [Lenovo ThinkServer RD240] 'Plumcot' fails to start Oneiric install
  'No root file system is defined'

Status in Hardware Labs:
  Confirmed
Status in “debian-installer” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  While trying to run Oneiric Alpha3 testing on this system, I came
  across the problem that shortly into the install the installer
  complains:

  'Partition disks'

  No root file system is defined

  Please correct this from the partitioning menu

  See the attached screenshot

  Using the Natty server image to install doesn't produce the same
  error.
