Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Could you please add the log files from '/var/log/dist-upgrade/'
to this bug report as separate attachments? Thanks in advance.

Other people affected by an upgrade issue please file separate bug
reports.

  Upgrade from terminal failes - Could not calculate the upgrade
  (11.04->11.10)

Status in “update-manager” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  Upgrade from Ubuntu 11.04  to 11.10 fails with the error "Could not
  calculate the upgrade" when first tried to upgrade by terminal.

  Upgrade was first tried with the command "sudo do-release-upgrade -d"
  which also failed. Output of this command can be view in the attached
  logged.

  Then trying with the GUI upgrade manager you get the following error:
  --
  An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
  Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the following error message:
  'E:Error, pkgProblemResolver::Resolve generated breaks, this may be caused by held packages.'
   --
