I don't know why things didn't work for me. But it stuck demanding a
wireless connection; I'd select the only one available, enter the
password, and then get looped back to Ubiquity demanding a wireless
connection. I couldn't even click "continue" without one.

Title:
(All Ubuntu Variants) need reliable no-network install options.
Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu:
New
Bug description:
Installation from the live cd got stuck while the installer demanded a
working network connection, and refused to accept the only network
connection available. Installation from the alternate cd got stuck at
the same point. I was able to skip the network connection, but the
install has been very buggy.
To show that this bug/oversight is near-universal in Ubuntu, this page
assumes that users have reliable network connections:
http://www.ubuntu.com/download/ubuntu/download
And while it's for 11.04, this page assumes the same, and matches the
alternate installer: https://help.ubuntu.com/11.04/installation-
guide/amd64/module-details.html
